Drew Linder enters his fifth season as Pitt baseball's Director of Player Development. He was hired in August of 2018 by head coach Mike Bell.
Linder joined the Panthers after spending the 2018 summer league season with the YD Red Sox of the prestigious Cape Cod League, where he served as an assistant coach for the regular season champions.
Linder has held several positions with USA Baseball throughout his time coaching. In the summer of 2016 he served on the Task Force and Evaluation Staff for the Tournament of the Stars, selecting the top talent from around the country to represent the U18 National Team. Linder has also served time on the Selection Staff for the National Team Identification Series (NTIS) for multiple summers, identifying and selecting players for the USA Developmental Programs and National Teams.
In 2017 Linder was named the Bullpen Coach for the Collegiate National Team under manager John Savage where he assisted with the USA pitching staff and the roster selections for the team.
The Collegiate National Team went on to win all three of the International Series against Taiwan, Cuba, and Japan. During the summer of 2017, USA held a 15-5 record and had a team ERA of 2.15.
Linder was a four-year member of the Florida State baseball program, serving as the bullpen coordinator and assisting with the Seminoles' pitching staff. During his time at Florida State he was a member of three ACC Champion Seminoles squads and the 2017 College World Series team. He also worked with the program's baseball operations and camp efforts during his time with the Seminoles.
A native of St. Augustine, Fla., Linder graduated from Florida State in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in business management.
Linder currently resides in Cranberry, Pa.
